Daffodil class is a mixed class of Key Stage 2 and 3 pupils. The class follows the Early Years philosophy of cross-curricular learning through play to teach and extend foundation skills. Activities are planned carefully to motivate the pupils and meet their individual targets. The SCERTS (Social Communication Emotional Regulation Transitional Supports) ethos is embedded within the class as we acknowledge the importance of a low arousal approach in helping the children to feel regulated and ready to learn.

Opportunities are provided for children to engage in circle time, attention autism sessions, sensory stories and song time. Independence and self-help skills are encouraged throughout the day.

The class team is supported by the therapy teams within the school.
