Hawk

Class Teacher: Hannah Lindley

Senior Support Assistant: Julie Brion

In Hawk Class, our aim is to enable students to leave as young adults who are as independent as possible and prepare them for the next stage in their life.

We ensure that the work provided is age and stage appropriate in terms of both the learning contexts and the resources used.  Our curriculum is the EQUALS semi-formal curriculum, allowing consistency throughout the school. This curriculum includes communication skills, interaction, creativity, problem solving, exploring the world around us, play, relationships, exploring the outdoors, physical wellbeing and independence alongside English and Maths. This means that the students access a broad and balanced curriculum, with work tailored to them and their needs.

In addition, each student will work on their individual targets daily. They work on targets which are based directly on their EHCP targets.

Hawk Class also have a range of opportunities to spend lots of time in the community to help develop our independence- this will include, over the year, sailing, Forest School, bowling, shopping, work experience, and travel training.
