Class Teacher

Speech & Language Therapist Opportunities, including Team Lead (Band 5 - 8)

Bucks Pay Range 5 - 9 ( Actual pay £25,128 - £41,135) dependent on qualifications and experience

Working hours: 37 hours per week plus 5 inset days plus 2 weeks

Chiltern Wood School educates children and young people with a broad diversity of complex needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), Severe Speech, Language and Communication Needs, and Complex Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC).

We have exciting opportunities to join our welcoming and creative speech and language therapy team. The team is well-resourced with its own budget for resources and specialist ICT equipment, has a commitment to evidence-based therapy, and works closely with the wider multi-disciplinary team. Therapists collaborate with class teams and parents to embed therapeutic strategies across the day. This includes a high level of direct work with pupils, coaching of class teams within the classroom environment, and frequent opportunities to deliver staff and parent training sessions.

We are seeking to appoint two therapists (Band 5 – 7) and one Speech and Language Therapy Team Lead (Band 8). The Team Lead will hold a caseload and have managerial responsibilities for the team. For all posts, we would welcome applicants who have existing specialist skills in Dysphagia, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), ASC or PMLD. Occupational Therapist (Band 6)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to support with the assessment of our young people and assist with the provision of Occupational Therapy across the school. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, planning and implementing therapeutic strategies to support a wide range of functional motor and sensory needs.

Experience of working with pupils with learning difficulties, ASD, and a wide range of complex needs is essential.
