Provision Map

Please find our Whole-School 2023 Provision Map below, which details the interventions, specialist support and therapeutic support available to the learners at our school.

Speech & Language Therapy

The speech and language team support pupils to develop their language, communication, speech, and social interaction skills.

They also work with some pupils who have difficulties with eating, drinking and swallowing, to help keep them safe and maintain/develop their skills.

Therapy is provided in an integrated way with parents, carers, school staff and other professionals. The team may work with pupils in class groups, in pairs, and individually. They mainly work in school but occasionally work with pupils at home and in the community.

The speech therapy team use a wide range of interventions, tools and strategies to support each pupil in reaching their communication potential, as well as a Total Communication Approach to ensure that we can introduce the best combination of communication methods for each pupil.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy enables pupils to thrive and achieve their full potential. This is done by providing practical support to empower and facilitate the pupils to overcome the barriers that prevent them from fully participating in school life. In turn, this helps to increase the pupil’s independence and satisfaction in all aspects of life. OT has been integrated into the curriculum with the teaching staff using a range of strategies in lessons and an awareness of each pupil's OT needs. This includes the use of specialist equipment in classrooms, individual programs of activities for identified students to complete.

Nurses will ensure that healthcare plans are in place when required and that teaching staff are trained to meet the children’s specific health needs. They work in partnership with the teaching staff and the Multidisciplinary team to ensure children reach their full potential. Nurses are employed by Buckinghamshire NHS Trust and are based in some of the special schools in Buckinghamshire.
